Self-employed? You probably need a vacation

If you’re self-employed, you work a lot. At least statistically, according to the results of the Discover Small Business Watch survey of 1,000 small business owners with five or fewer employees.  

According to the report from Inc.com, 28% of business owners work at least six days per week and 52% took off seven days or fewer for the year – compared with 36% of the overall population.Some additional conclusions from the report:

-  61% of small business owners would not give up independence of business ownership for a higher salary
-  70% of self-employed business owners do not want to grow their businesses much larger
- 46% of self-employed survey respondents started a business to have more freedom or a flexible work schedule
- 75% of small business owners do not provide health benefits to their employees, and 33% of those who do provide health benefits have considered cutting back coverage to save money
