Chandigarh University hosted SANDBOX 2025, a flagship event celebrating the entrepreneurial spirit of North India on National Startup Day. The event showcased groundbreaking innovations and fostered collaborations among startups, investors, and industry leaders.

Anupam Mittal, a Shark Tank India judge and the founder of Shaadi.com, was the Chief Guest and mentored budding entrepreneurs.

Hosted by Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator (CU-TBI), the event received over 1000 registrations from startups.

250 viable startups from 45 cities were shortlisted, including 50 selected startups exhibiting in various fields such as artificial intelligence, business, health care, and agriculture. Ten startups got the chance to pitch their ideas before Anupam Mittal.

Young entrepreneurs expressed that PM Modi has reignited the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship in India by declaring National Startup Day to honor the creativity and resilience of the country’s innovators. Satnam Singh Sandhu, Member of Parliament and Chancellor of Chandigarh University, and several industry leaders attended the event. Anupam Mittal highlighted the increase in the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship in India.

“The biggest reason for this is our government, which has created many new opportunities to encourage our youth. Entrepreneurs create opportunities on their own.

I am confident that Indian entrepreneurship skills will position them as top entrepreneurs globally in the coming decade,” he said.

Satnam Singh Sandhu added that startups have witnessed a golden era under PM Modi’s leadership. Supportive policies have made India a nation of technology and ideas. The country has the world’s 3rd largest startup ecosystem with over 1.57 lakh startups and 110 unicorns.
