The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) is set to host the 10th edition of its entrepreneurship summit from February 28. Titled ‘Decade of Dynamism’, the event will attract over 1,000 founders, 50 investors, and 15,000 students from more than 400 colleges across the country. This year’s summit will feature a live fundraising event called ‘PitchFest’ for the first time.

Around 100 startups will compete for funding from leading angel investors. The e-summit will serve as a vital hub for aspiring entrepreneurs to refine their ideas and grow them into viable business ventures by engaging with industry experts, venture capitalists, and fellow students. V.

Kamakoti, the institute director, emphasized PitchFest as an opportunity for students to showcase their ability to secure funding and persuade angel investors of their business potential. The summit will also introduce ‘Biz Bazaar’, where students can showcase and sell their products.

E-cell faculty advisor Richa Agrawal noted, “It acts as a low-prep event for students to get a flavor of business and entrepreneurship.”

The e-summit will include a startup expo for professionals to present their services, a bootcamp for early-stage startups, and an incubator-summit. ‘Elevate’, a pan-India fundraising event, will promote collaboration among early-stage entrepreneurs, mentors, and investors. Furthermore, the summit will introduce social initiatives such as ‘In-Verse’, aimed at empowering the creative arts sector, and ‘Education-21’, designed to help schoolchildren understand the value of an entrepreneurial mindset.

The entrepreneurship summit, the result of the e-cell team’s yearlong efforts, promises to be an outstanding event fostering innovation, collaboration, and entrepreneurial spirit at IIT Madras.
