IIT Madras is set to host the 10th edition of its entrepreneurship summit from February 28 to March 2, 2025. The event, titled ‘Decade of Dynamism,’ will bring together over 1,000 founders, 50 investors, and 15,000 students from more than 400 colleges across India. The summit will feature several new events aimed at supporting aspiring entrepreneurs.

One highlight is ‘PitchFest,’ a live fundraising event where around 100 startups will compete for funding from leading angel investors. V. Kamakoti, the institute director, emphasized the importance of PitchFest, saying it provides an opportunity for students to showcase their ability to attract funding and persuade investors.

Focus on student innovation

Another new addition is the ‘biz bazaar,’ a marketplace where students can sell their creations and gain practical business experience. Richa Agrawal, the e-cell faculty advisor, noted that the summit is the result of a year-long effort by the e-cell team.

Other events include a startup expo, a bootcamp for early-stage startups, and an incubator summit. The pan-India fundraising event ‘Elevate’ aims to connect early-stage entrepreneurs with mentors, angel investors, and venture capitalists. The e-summit will also feature social initiatives such as ‘in-verse,’ launched this year to support the creative arts sector, and ‘Education-21,’ which targets schoolchildren to help them understand the potential of an entrepreneurial mindset.

This annual event serves as a hub for aspiring entrepreneurs, providing a platform to nurture innovative ideas and transform them into viable businesses. It brings together industry experts, venture capitalists, and students to foster collaboration and innovation in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
