IIT Madras is set to host the 10th edition of its entrepreneurship summit from February 28. The event, named ‘Decade of Dynamism’, will bring together over 1,000 founders, 50 investors, and 15,000 students from more than 400 colleges across the country. One of the key highlights of this year’s summit will be the live fundraising event called ‘PitchFest’.
Approximately 100 startups are expected to compete for funding from prominent angel investors. The summit aims to provide a platform for aspiring entrepreneurs to nurture innovative ideas and transform them into viable business ventures by connecting them with industry experts, venture capitalists, and students. Decade of Dynamism showcases innovation
Kamakoti expressed enthusiasm about the event, emphasizing that PitchFest provides students with a significant opportunity to attract funding by convincing angel investors of their ideas’ potential. Another novel feature of this year’s summit is the ‘biz bazaar’, a marketplace where students can showcase and sell their creations, offering them a practical experience of business and entrepreneurship.
E-cell faculty advisor Richa Agrawal remarked that the summit is the culmination of yearlong efforts by the e-cell team on campus and beyond. Additional activities include a startup expo, where students, investors, and professionals can display their products and services, a bootcamp for early-stage startups, an incubator summit, and a pan-India fundraising event called Elevate. These activities aim to foster collaboration among early-stage entrepreneurs, mentors, angel investors, and venture capitalists.
The e-summit will also incorporate social initiatives such as ‘in-verse’, launched this year to empower the creative arts sector, and ‘Education-21’ to help schoolchildren appreciate the potential of an entrepreneurial mindset. This comprehensive summit serves as a vital hub for aspiring entrepreneurs and provides numerous opportunities to turn innovative ideas into successful business ventures.
