DP World Jafza is investing AED 90 million (US$24.5 million) in Phase 2 of its logistics park. The expansion will add 360,000 square feet (33,445 square meters) of facilities at the park, which is located next to Jebel Ali Port. The new development aims to support the UAE’s logistics industry and help grow this sector to AED 200 billion (US$54.45 billion) per year by 2032.

Abdulla Al Hashmi, DP World COO for Parks and Zones, said the expansion will attract more foreign investment into the country. “The expansion of Jafza Logistics Park reflects our commitment to helping businesses compete globally and simultaneously drive foreign investment into Dubai,” he stated. “Phase one was fully leased before completion, highlighting strong demand for quality logistics and warehousing.

Phase two takes this a step further by offering flexible, high-quality solutions to support growth in multiple sectors.”

The expansion will increase the total area of Jafza Logistics Park to over 922,000 square feet (85,656m²). The Middle East and Africa’s freight and logistics market is projected to reach $235.8 billion by 2031.

Logistics park expansion supports growth

In Dubai, sectors like manufacturing, logistics, construction, and e-commerce are driving the demand for advanced warehousing. The newly expanded park will provide advanced storage and handling solutions, such as contract logistics, freight forwarding, and freight management for a wide range of products including tech and automotive parts, fashion, and packaged food. It will also offer value-added services such as packaging, labelling, and quality control, alongside real-time inventory tracking.

The park will enable re-exports, domestic fulfilment, and import-export consolidation. The park incorporates precast concrete and off-site construction methods to minimise environmental impact. Skylights have been installed to maximise natural daylight and reduce energy consumption.

Jafza currently hosts 10,890 companies from 150 countries, supports over 160,000 jobs, and contributes AED 620 billion in trade annually. Phase one of the development, completed in November 2023, spans 562,507 square feet (52,258m²) and features Grade-A dry and pharma storage units, temperature-controlled warehouses, and office spaces. The expansion of Jafza Logistics Park shows DP World’s commitment to enhancing Dubai’s logistics capabilities, supporting business growth, and strengthening international trade connections.
