The Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) organized the grand STPI SANGAM event. It brought together startups, investors, mentors, and industry leaders under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology’s Next Generation Incubation Scheme (NGIS). The event was held at the Bharat Mandapam Convention Centre.
Shri S. Krishnan, Secretary of MeitY, was the Chief Guest. Shri K. Singh, Joint Secretary of MeitY, and Shri Arvind Kumar, Director General of STPI, also attended. In his keynote, Shri S.
Krishnan emphasized the important role of startups in India’s economic future. He said, “Startups are the engines of innovation and economic growth. Their disruptive spirit, agility, and commitment to solving real-world challenges shape India’s future.”
Shri Arvind Kumar shared that 44% of STPI’s startup portfolio comprises women entrepreneurs, many from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.
Under the NGIS scheme, STPI has supported 685 startups, provided seed funding to 136 startups, and created over 7,000 jobs.
Uniting the startup ecosystem
Shri K.
K. Singh highlighted the importance of a strong innovation ecosystem. He said that by accelerating startup growth, India can create jobs and achieve economic self-reliance.
Ms. Farzana Haque, an investor and global business leader, said, “Entrepreneurship is not just about building businesses; it is about creating opportunities, driving self-reliance, and shaping the future.
The event launched STPI MedTech Centre of Excellence’s Open Challenge Program 6.0 in Lucknow. This program will empower health-tech startups in medical equipment, electronics, and health informatics.
Three Memorandums of Understanding were also signed to strengthen India’s startup ecosystem. They were between STPINEXT Initiatives and the Centre for Medical Innovation & Entrepreneurship at AIIMS New Delhi, the K.R. Mangalam Entrepreneurship and Incubation Centre, and Netlink Software Private Limited in Bhopal. The event showcased startups in domains like DeepTech, HealthTech, FinTech, GreenTech, and AgriTech.
It concluded with a ceremony honoring the rising stars of the STPI startup ecosystem and their ecosystem partners. STPI SANGAM 2025 reinforced India’s commitment to a thriving startup ecosystem, technological progress, and empowering the next wave of innovators. It set a powerful example for India’s entrepreneurial future.
